The Torre Guaceto State Nature Reserve is a protected natural area located on the Adriatic coast of the upper Salento, a few kilometers from the centers of Carovigno and San Vito dei Normanni and 17 km north of Brindisi. The landscape is typical of the Mediterranean maquis, a riot of colors from the green of the centuries-old olive trees, to the yellow of the beaches and dunes, to the crystalline blue of the sea which breaks on the dark cliffs. The marine reserve is in turn divided into three areas: zone A, B and C. Zone A is a totally protected area, and this means that navigation is completely prohibited in this zone, while zones B and C guarantee bathing and navigation at pre-established times. For tourists, the consortium that manages the reserve organizes daily trekking, bike trekking, sailing courses, scuba diving and sea watching courses.
